Marine & Ocean Equipment Team

Marine and Ocean Equipment Team is responsible for the approval of marine equipment including materials, hull, machinery, electrical & electronic equipment, and automation system intended for ships and offshore structures. Surveyors manage a series of processes, including data reviews, approval tests, and plant audits, and finally issue approval certificates. The kind of approval includes the approval of manufacturing process, type approval, design approval, quality assurance system approval, manufacturer approval, and approval of BWMS & e-Nav equipment. In particular, designated as an independent laboratory by USCG, KR provides BWMS testing service for USCG type approval.

The Diversification Business Team is in charge of the CE mark certification and the 3rd party inspection. Third party inspection means to inspect and provide results as a certificate by entrusting the authority for judging product conformity from the client or the legislative / enforcement agency according to the standards / regulations or product specifications that are the criteria for conformity judgment.

Statutory Service Team

The Statutory Service Team is in charge of inspection under the Korean Government Act. and IMO related work, and supports the enactment and revision of national legislation related to ships. The team is also responsible for type approval of containers with dangerous goods, and freight containers.
